Reinstatement

This page explains what you must do if you previously held a CASLPO certificate of registration and now wish to return to practice in Ontario.

Your reinstatement pathway depends on your circumstances at the time you apply. Select the option that applies to you:

Returning After Resignation

If you resigned from CASLPO and wish to return to practice in Ontario, you must submit a new application. Your previous registration cannot simply be reactivated.

If YOU ARE currently registered as an audiologist or a speech-language pathologist in another regulated Canadian province, one of the following pathways may apply:

  1. Labour Mobility Pathway
This pathway is intended for audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are registered in another regulated Canadian province and wish to become registered in Ontario. Eligible applicants are not required to undergo an additional assessment of their education or training.

  2. As of Right Pathway
This pathway allows eligible audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are registered and in good standing in another regulated Canadian province to practise in person in Ontario temporarily while CASLPO processes their application.

Eligible applicants may practise through this pathway for up to six months

Important: Do not use the online application portal for this pathway.
Email [email protected]  with the subject line “As of Right” to request the application and attestation forms.

Applicants must maintain full registration in their home province. A reduced registration fee applies.

If Your Certificate Was Suspended

A notation of the suspension will remain indefinitely on CASLPO’s public register.

You may request reinstatement if less than one year has passed since the effective date of your suspension.

How to request reinstatement
  1. Email the Director of Registration Services and state that you wish to have your certificate reinstated.
  2. Pay the applicable reinstatement fee and any annual registration fee owing.
  3. Complete your online CASLPO registration renewal within 15 days after your certificate is reinstated.
One-year deadline

If your certificate is not reinstated within one year after the effective date of the suspension, it will be revoked.

If Your Certificate Was Revoked

A notation of the revocation will remain indefinitely on CASLPO’s public register.

A revoked certificate cannot be reinstated through the suspension reinstatement process. You must submit a new application and meet all registration requirements in effect on the date you apply (i.e. current coursework and practicum requirements, passing the CETP Exam).

Where applicable, you must also satisfy the Registrar that the deficiency that led to the revocation has been corrected.
