Top 5 Tips for Renewing Your CASLPO Registration

1. Renew your registration early

To avoid a 20% late fee of $156, log in to your Registrant Portal account, find "Your 2024 Renewal" and start the process. Early renewal also gives you time to seek advice and avoid last-minute stress.

2. Check your professional liability insurance (PLI)

Ensure that your PLI coverage is up-to-date and includes:

If your employer provides PLI coverage, confirm that the policy covers you as an individual or as part of a group.

3. Consider resigning if you’re not renewing

If you are retiring, relocating, or changing professions, you can resign using the online renewal system or by emailing [email protected]. For details on the resignation process, refer to our Renewal FAQ (question #18).

Note: To re-register after resigning and if not registered in another regulated Canadian province, you must submit a full application and meet current entry-to-practice requirements, which may include additional coursework or exams.

4. Request a change of status to return to work

If you need to change your status to return to work, please note your status will not automatically update after you submit your renewal. Requests must be submitted by September 15, 2024, to return to work by September 2024. If your request is not approved, it will be reviewed by the College’s Registration Committee, which may take 3 to 4 months.

Reminder: You cannot work or hold yourself out in any way as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist in Ontario until your general certificate is reinstated.
