Cross Provincial Practice (CPP) Certificate

The Cross Provincial Practice (CPP) Certificate is a temporary license valid for 12 months. It allows registrants who are in good standing from any of the following participating provinces to provide up to 200 direct client/patient service hours in Ontario while maintaining full registration in their home province:

  1. Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
  2. College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
  3. Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB)
  4. College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Saskatchewan (CSASK)

Who Can Apply?

Applicants who hold full registration without any restrictions (not supervised or in mentorship) and are in good standing in any of the four participating provinces may apply for a CPP Certificate in Ontario. CASLPO registrants seeking CPP registration in another participating province must contact that province’s regulatory body.

Registration Requirements

  1. Eligibility to Work in Canada – You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or authorized under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) to engage in the practice of audiology or speech-language pathology in Ontario.
  2. Verification of Employment – You must show evidence of your recent experience practising as an audiologist or a speech-language pathologist. You must have provided patient care or related work as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist within the past three years.
  3. Past Offences and Findings – You must declare if you have ever been denied registration by a health regulatory body, found guilty of any offences or professional misconduct, or are currently involved in a proceeding related to your practise as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist.
  4. Health and Conduct – You must declare if you suffer from any physical or mental condition or disorder that could affect your ability to practise audiology or speech-language pathology in a safe manner. The College must also be satisfied that you will practise with decency, honesty and integrity, and in accordance with the law.

Maintaining Your CPP Certificate

  1. Your CPP certificate expires in 12 months. If you wish to continue with your CPP certificate, you may reapply after your current certificate expires.
  2. You must not provide more than 200 direct client/patient service hours per year in Ontario. If you wish to provide more than 200 direct client/patient service hours per year in Ontario, you must obtain a general certificate of registration with CASLPO.
