Recording available: Understanding Intimate Partner Violence Webinar

Health professionals may play an important role in preventing intimate partner violence (IPV) by recognizing the risk factors and knowing how to respond appropriately.

On September 22, 2026, CASLPO and other Ontario health regulatory colleges held a free virtual education session titled Understanding Intimate Partner Violence: Recognition, Response and Resources.

The session explored:

The role of regulated professionals in recognizing and responding to IPV
Risk factors associated with IPV
Approaches to IPV risk assessment in practice
Reporting obligations and privacy considerations, including guidance from the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario
