Upcoming E-Forum for Audiologists: Prescribing Hearing Aids

Audiologists and physicians are the only regulated health providers permitted to prescribe hearing aids in Ontario. Prescribing hearing aids is a controlled act associated with patient risk of harm. The public relies on audiologists as trusted and regulated hearing healthcare providers with the knowledge, skill, judgement, and education to prescribe hearing aids. With recent changes, audiologists are working more with hearing instrument practitioners to provide patients with hearing aid prescriptions.

To help CASLPO's audiologists understand and meet the standards for prescribing hearing aids, the College shared FAQs, a prescription checklist, and form in April.

Join us for an E-Forum on August 14, from 12 – 1:15 PM, as we discuss important requirements for audiologists when providing hearing aid prescriptions for patients and working with hearing instrument practitioners.
