CASLPO welcomes Dr. Trudy McFarlane, a family physician, Physician/GP psychotherapist and medical consultant. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor and serves as Special Advisor to the Dean at Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine. A co-medical lead with Peel Public Health’s Black, African, Caribbean Communities Action-Planning and Strategy Committees, Dr. McFarlane also serves as a representative of the Black Physicians of Canada, as a co-chair/founder of the Black Physicians of Nova Scotia and a member of the Black Physicians Association of Ontario.
In this session, Dr. McFarlane will discuss the definition of Anti-Black racism, how Anti-Black racism can impact patient care, and how healthcare providers can challenge Anti-Black racism to support dismantling discrimination in healthcare.
