We are pleased to announce that Samidha Joglekar has been selected as CASLPO’s next Deputy Registrar. Samidha is a bilingual audiologist registered with CASLPO since 2010. She will take on this important role when Margaret Drent transitions to Registrar and CEO upon Brian O'Riordan's retirement in January 2025.
Since joining CASLPO in April 2017, Samidha has served as Audiology Advisor & Manager of Mentorship, as well as Advisor for Audiology Practice & Quality Assurance. As Manager of Mentorship, Samidha’s accomplishments included successfully transitioning the Mentorship Program to an online platform and managing over 250 mentorship cycles annually for both professions. Samidha also incorporated the Clinical Reasoning Tool into mentorship and launched a series of training webinars for mentors and mentees. In addition, Samidha has led the development of critical practice standards that ensure our registrants always provide safe, high-quality care, such as the Practice Standards for Audiological Assessment, the Advertising Standards, the Standards on Use of Restricted Titles, and pandemic practice advisories.
As an advisor in the Quality Assurance Program, Samidha has supported the development of the new Evidence Review as part of peer assessment. Samidha also led the development of the mental health and well-being page in the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT).
Prior to her work at CASLPO, Samidha held clinical and research roles as an audiologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Sunnybrook Research Institute, and GN ReSound Canada. These experiences provided her with a deep understanding of the audiology field and equipped her to make significant contributions to our organization.
Samidha is known for her collaborative and supportive approach. Her excellent communication skills and innovative, strategic mindset have enabled her to effectively support CASLPO registrants and the College’s Quality Assurance, Registration, and Audiology Practice Advisory Committees.
