Pride Recognition 2025

Pride Month is a meaningful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the diversity in our communities. At the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), we proudly stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals as a part of our ongoing commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in healthcare.

This Pride Month, we are reaffirming our commitment to support audiologists and speech-language pathologists as they continue to provide care that is informed, inclusive, and respectful of the experiences and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

As a regulatory body, CASLPO’s role is to protect the public by ensuring that audiologists and speech-language pathologists provide high-quality, culturally safe care. That means care that respects and supports everyone—patients, students, clients, and families —including those from 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to support this work:

These actions align with the values in CASLPO’s Code of Ethics , which requires all audiologists and speech-language pathologists to treat all people fairly and with respect, and to provide equitable and inclusive patient-centred care.

We also recognize that 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals continue to face discrimination and exclusion within health care systems. Real change takes ongoing effort. CASLPO is committed to listening, learning, and doing the work needed to help create a more inclusive and respectful environment for everyone—regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Happy Pride Month.
