Our Speakers:
CASLPO and COO are pleased to welcome Marta Hajek and Raeann Rideout from Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPO). EAPO is a provincial leader in preventing elder abuse and providing education, training, resource development and information about the increasing complex issues of elder abuse.
- Marta Hajek is the Chief Executive Officer of EAPO. She works closely with the Ontario government to advance the Ontario Strategy to Combat Elder Abuse—the first of its kind in Canada—and to strengthen community partnerships that support older adults. She played a key role in launching 211 as a national human services referral platform and serves on the Seniors Expert Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission. In May 2024, Marta addressed the UN’s Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing, calling for a global convention to protect the human rights of older persons.
- Raeann Rideout is the Director of Strategic Partnerships at EAPO. With over 29 years of experience in the field, Raeann has worked extensively with community partners and service providers to address and prevent elder abuse. She has spent 16 years as EAPO’s Central East Regional Consultant, building strong partnerships both locally and nationally to support at-risk older adults. Raeann also served as Co-Chair and Board Director of the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA) for over eight years.
Please note: this session will not be recorded but resources will be made available after the E-Forum. If you have any questions in advance of the E-Forum or issues with your registration, please email us at [email protected].
