Our Plan
Deepening Trust, Equity, and Responsiveness

CASLPO enters its next strategic cycle with a strong foundation and an equally strong imperative: to deepen the trust we've earned by further evolving how we regulate, communicate, and lead.

Our strategic direction is organized around a top-line goal: Deepening Trust, Equity, and Responsiveness.

By 2030, CASLPO will be recognized as a trusted, responsive, and inclusive regulator — one that listens actively, communicates clearly, and collaborates meaningfully to protect the public.

Strategic Priorities

Together, these priorities guide our strategic direction toward an engaged, transparent, and equitable regulatory approach—enabling CASLPO to adapt swiftly in a changing environment while maintaining the trust of all who interacts with the College.

Priority 1: Insight-Informed Regulation

By 2030, CASLPO will learn from the public, registrants and system partners — and will respond by using insight to guide decisions and improvements in its regulatory approach.

Strategic Objectives

  • Deepen Insight into Public and Registrant Needs
Connect and engage with registrants and the public to better understand needs, experiences and perspectives to enable informed decision-making and leadership grounded in empathy and clarity.
  • Use Data to Guide Decisions
Collect relevant and actionable data and information to monitor progress, better understand current or perceived challenges, and implement improvements wherever possible using a right-touch regulatory approach.

Priority 2: Communication That Builds Trust

By 2030, CASLPO will be recognized for clear communication that reflects its role, values, and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Strategic Objectives

  • Strengthen Understanding Through Clear and Accessible Communication
Develop clear, straightforward and accessible messaging to help others better understand CASLPO’s values, its regulatory role, and how the College protects the public while supporting the professions.
  • Strengthen Communication Across All Audiences
Leverage new information-sharing tools and collaborate with system partners to ensure that clear, inclusive messages about the purpose and importance of professional regulation reach the right audience.
  • Develop Relationships with Key System Partners Through Communication
Prioritize consistent, clear and respectful communication with key partners across the system to build trust and develop stronger relationships that will support and drive meaningful progress.

Priority 3: Collaborative, Future-Ready Leadership

By 2030, CASLPO will be a collaborative, future-ready regulator that works with system partners towards a fair and responsive system.

Strategic Objectives

  • Support Registrants Through Recognition and Access
Acknowledge registrants’ contributions, make information easier to access, and foster a supportive environment where professionals feel confident in meeting high standards while also understanding the College’s regulatory role.
  • Lead with Agility and Foresight
Lead thoughtfully in a rapidly changing environment by remaining flexible, collaborating to monitor and anticipate changes, and developing inclusive standards and policies that reflect a diverse community and evolving practices.
  • Strengthen Partnerships to Lead Together
Cultivate relationships with system partners through collaboration and knowledge exchange to improve the ability to address risk and be vigilant in responding to systemic developments.
