| Auto Insurance Fraud
Auto insurance fraud is targeting the health care system
Identity theft can impact health care practitioners in many ways. The insurance industry regulator, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario’s (FSCO) new brochure builds on the government’s Auto Insurance Anti-Fraud Task Force recent initiatives.
Many health care regulatory colleges were consulted on the development of this brochure, including CASLPO. It contains some very useful information for members of the college involved in providing insured services to patients injured in motor vehicle accidents. The brochure flows from the work of the Ontario’s Auto Insurance Anti-Fraud Task Force, which will be presenting its final report to the government at the end of this year.
The brochure on Insurance Abuse and Fraud in Health Care Services: Everyone Has a Role to Play, provides information on how health care practitioners can protect themselves and play a critical role in reducing abuse and fraud.
