The goal of CASLPO peer assessments is to ensure that registrants are practicing in an ethical manner and following the legislation, CASLPO’s regulations and practice standards. The process is designed to be positive, supportive learning. Registrants are randomly selected each year to participate in a peer assessment or an evidence review.
CASLPO peer assessors are experienced clinicians who were peer assessed themselves. They receive annual training and are in good standing with the College.
The peer assessment process includes:
Submit the Self-Assessment Tool and evidence for each indicator
Pairing Peer Assessors and registrants
The virtual peer assessment interview
Potential remediation for areas that need work

The evidence review process includes:
Submit the Self-Assessment Tool and evidence for specific indicators
Pairing peer assessors and registrants
Peer assessors review the evidence of pre-determined indicators (there is no virtual interview)
Potential email communication from the peer assessor on remediation
Peer assessor documentation, reviewed by the Quality Assurance Committee.
